Chalet Wonderland ...
Breakfast in France - lunch in Italy! That's what you can look forward to when you stay at this luxury chalet for 13 (10 adults and 3 children) in Séez, and ski from Ste-Foy, in the Tarentaise or La Rosière, in the Espace San Bernardo. You can also ski from Les Arcs - just head to Bourg St Maurice and take the funicular railway up to the resort. Tignes and Val d'Isère are a mere 30-min drive away.
In the summer, the chalet is surrounded by beautiful walking trails, ranging from gentle walks for families to more challenging hikes into the mountains. Cyclists will appreciate the Alpine passes Col du Petit Saint Bernard, Col de l'Iseran and Cormet de Roselend, all of which have featured in the Tour de France. There are also some exciting downhill routes for mountain bikers.
Other activities include fishing in the mountain lakes and streams, a tree-top assault course, tennis and swimming.
And when you return to Chalet Wonderland at the end of a busy day, you can relax in your own outdoor pool (June 15 to Sept 15), watch a film in the TV room or push yourself some more in the gym!
The beautiful village of Seez will have everything you need during your stay - a small supermarket as well as bakeries, a butcher, a cheese shop, a deli and bars and restaurants. There are more shops and services in Bourg St Maurice.
About the property ...
Despite its grand proportions, there's a really homely feel to this three-storey chalet.
Enter on the lower ground floor, from the swimming pool terrace. The hall leads to the wonderfulTV/games room, decorated with a fairground theme - get together on the comfortable sofas to watch a film, help yourself to a drink from the bar or head out on to the terrace for a swim (summer only).
There are two bedrooms on this floor - a bunk room for two plus an additional pull-out bed, and another room which can be arranged with a kingsize or two single beds. This room has an en suite shower room, and there's a separate WC with shower under the stairs. There is also a useful laundry room with a washing machine and dryer.
There are three more bedrooms on the ground floor. The first room can be arranged with a kingsize or two single beds and has an en suite shower room. The next has a kingsize bed, and en suite shower room and doors to the balcony, and the third room is a fabulous master suite with a kingsize bed and roll-top bath, an elegant en suite shower room with twin washbasins and another area with a TV and a very comfortable queen size sofa bed, that can sleep two more people. This sumptuous suite has doors to the front balcony and another private balcony.
The spacious living area is on the top floor, making the most of the superb views. There's a huge, well-equipped kitchen area with everything you need to cook for your group, including an oven, microwave, a range-style cooker, a dishwasher and an airfryer. There's a large, marble-topped central island with room for food prep and a breakfast bar, and a long dining table with benches and chairs, where everyone can enjoy a meal together.
At the other end of the room, a huge L-shaped sofa strewn with cushions and another smaller sofa create a cosy area for conversation, games or watching a film. This whole room is flooded with light from doors to the balconies at the front and back of Chalet Wonderland. This room also has a desk area and a WC.
Chalet Wonderland also has a garage with storage for bikes, and outside parking.
About the area ...
The charming village of Séez is ideally located for those who love winter and summer sports, and for those who love to get out in the mountains, whatever the time of year.
It's directly linked to the Espace San Bernardo (1190-2800m), which includes the French resort of La Rosiere, famous for its sunny slopes. There are plenty of long, gentle slopes on the French side, with challenging north-facing slopes in the Italian Aosta Valley, so if your group is one of mixed abilities, you'll all be happy! You'll get great snow cover too - the proximity to Mont Blanc and the Petit Saint Bernard pass means the snow is good from mid-December to the end of April.
There's easy access to Les Arcs too, via the funicular railway from Bourg St Maurice.
Nordic skiers will be happy to discover the 18km loop from Séez, and there are also routes for snowshoe walkers. Those looking for thrills can try snow-kiting and paragliding.
When the snow melts, there's still plenty to do in and around Séez, in the Vanoise National Park. Hikers flock to the area for the varied range of trails, and mountain bikers relish the downhill challenges through the forests. Road cyclists are not left out either, with a good selection of routes that are frequently featured in the Tour de France.
Nearby Bourg Saint Maurice is also a centre for whitewater sports - the 268km Isère river has hosted the world kayaking championships.
If you'd like to take it a bit easier, there are plenty of places to sit by the water and fish - mountain lakes, rivers and streams.
Children of all ages will love the "Repaire des Ecureuils" tree-top adventure course, and the village has a multi-sports centre where you can swim, play tennis, football and basketball, or just let off some steam in the play area.

The snow-sure resort of Les Arcs is designed to get skiers as close as possible to the superb skiing of the Paradiski domaine.
Designed and built in the 60s, Les Arcs is composed of four ski-in, ski-out villages, each at a different altitude (1600-2,000m)
It has long had a reputation for excellent skiing and snowboarding facilities, but its popularity as a year-round destination is growing, with a great choice of scenic hiking trails and 149km of MTB routes.
There’s a range of other activities too, from golf and horseriding to paragliding and snowshoeing, so there’s always plenty to do.

Chalet Wonderland is a superb, three-storey chalet for 13 (10 adults and 3 children) with a summer pool, five bedrooms and five bath/shower rooms. Set in a quiet location in Seez, you'll have a choice of skiing in Ste-Foy, Les Arcs and La Rosière, and in the summer, there's a huge choice of walking and biking trails.
There's a huge sense of fun about this chalet - it really lives up to its name of Chalet Wonderland! The ground floor bar and TV room is decorated in a vintage fairground style, and the colourful vibe runs throughout the property. The games room opens on to the terrace, where you can take a dip in the outdoor pool from June 15 to September 15.
There's a laundry room and two bedrooms on the lower ground floor - a bunk room for 2 plus an additional pull-out bed, and a double room with a kingsize or twin beds and an en suite shower room. You'll find three more bedrooms on the ground floor: a kingsize/twin room with an en suite shower area, a double room with an en suite shower and doors to the balcony and a stunning master suite with a large double bed, a roll-top bath with a balcony view, an en suite shower room and a separate sitting room with a comfortable queen size sofa bed for two and doors to the balcony.
The spacious, open-plan living area on the top floor has a well-equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar, a huge dining table and a cosy seating area with a comfortable sofas around the television. Doors on two sides of this floor fill it with light and open on to large balconies.
There's also a desk area on this floor and a WC.
The garage has storage for bikes and outdoor equipment, and there's plenty of parking.

I learnt to ski aged 20 in Val D'isere and instantly fell in love with the Vanoise National Park. I'm 56 now and have been back every year since.
My retirement dream was to build a chalet that has access to the amazing skiing of the whole Tarentaise Valley, including skiing to La Thuile for lunch in Italy, in winter. But I also wanted it to open the door to the wonder of the alpine spring, summer and autumn seasons.
Whether cycling, white water rafting or walking along the river through the woods or, for the brave, tackling the steep ascents and descents of the numerous cols, it is all on your doorstep.
We built the chalet for ourselves and we have extremely high standards, so the beds and sofas are all dreamily comfortable. The bedding is luxurious and 5-star hotel quality.
The cooking facilities are incredible as we are serious foodies and love shopping at the Saturday market in Bourg st Maurice, a five-minute drive away.
The pool has a pump so you can swim against a current and the gym has a series of weights, Concept 2 rowing machine, Peleton bike, Peleton treadmill and a Magic Mirror with a personal trainer inside! So you have no excuse to work off the calories from the delicious Savoyarde cuisine!
Oh - did I mention the bar next to the pool? The house is stuffed full of original artwork and antiques we have collected over the years to compliment the beautiful interior created by Jules who is a professional interior designer.
